Greene County MU Extension

David has two degrees from Drury: a master's in marketing and communication (2001) and bachelor’s  in political science and journalism (1988). For five years, he was managing editor of a weekly newspaper and was named Top Young Weekly Editor by the International Society of Weekly Newspaper Editors (1992). Since joining MU Extension in 2001, David has been recognized for having the Innovative Program of the Year (2004, 2011 and 2016), Team of the Year (2006 and 2012), Excellence in Teaching Award (2014) and as County Program Director of the Year (2016). David is a prolific writer, the author of six books and a columnist for the Greene County Commonwealth and Springfield News-Leader since 2001. David and his wife have lived in Republic for 14 years with their two children and are active members of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
